2 Tawarikh 30:6

30:6 Messengers ¹  delivered the letters from the king and his officials throughout Israel and Judah.

This royal edict read: ²  “O Israelites, return to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, so he may return ³  to you who have been spared from the kings of Assyria. ⁴ 

2 Tawarikh 35:21

35:21 Necho ⁵  sent messengers to him, saying, “Why are you opposing me, O king of Judah? ⁶  I am not attacking you today, but the kingdom with which I am at war. ⁷  God told me to hurry. Stop opposing God, who is with me, or else he will destroy you.” ⁸

[30:6]  ³ tn The jussive with vav conjunctive indicates purpose/result after the preceding imperative.

[35:21]  ⁷ tn Heb “Not against you, you, today, but against the house of my battle.”
